Hibernation
It's been a tough 'vacation' this past month here at Lake Artemesia in Lanham. But I'm just about ready to emerge from this polar hibernation. All the Indonesia Publications periodicals, indonesian-studies list, blog postings and friendly emails will start to appear again within the next few days.
I'm still not yet fully caught up with my welcome messages to new friends on Friendster, so those of you in this category, please bear with me a bit longer. Or better, if I've not yet welcomed you, send me a private email here on Friendster to say 'Hi' and let me know your email address. That will speed things up a lot. Most Friendster personal profiles are not exactly googlesque (a new word) in revealing key info tidbits (not the same as bits or bytes).
Meanwhile, there is a short article in the January-March 2006 issue of Inside Indonesia on our growing network. :-) You can read it by clicking here.
Last, here's some truly incredible breaking news which just appeared on the What House website -- President Gorge Bush has issued a yearend Executive Order annulling 2005. The press release states Gorge did this because 2005 was a very bad year for him, and he wanted it erased from everyone's memory. Gorge said he could do this since there was nothing in the Constitution saying it was disallowed, and his lawyers told him it did not contravene any existing law. Gorge warned his detractors not to resist forthcoming implementing regulations. Otherwise, he would annul several thousand centuries of geological history as a result of which entire peoples and whole continents would disappear from the face of the earth. He declared such an action did not fall within definitions of genocide in interational law. Finally, he vowed to veto any Congressional legislation fast-forwarding time to 2009 in order to remove him from office.
